Nonprofit Marketing Specialist

BASIC FUNCTION: The Nonprofit Marketing Strategist is responsible for supporting ten nonprofits’ mission and expanding the outreach through the execution of various creative and innovative marketing strategies. This is a unique position offered through United Way to benefit nonprofits in the Venango County who are not able to financially support a marketing position alone.

Marketing Specialist is responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing promotion strategies using social media platforms
  • Website management
  • Event promotion
  • Press releases for all Media Outlets

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Effective communicator with the ability to prioritize portfolio management and conflicting deadlines for non-profit clients.
  • Develop creative and engaging content for communication platforms including social media, website, e-newsletter, press releases, promotional items, and print media.
  • Effectively work with nonprofits to achieve their goals.

  • Planning and Implementation
  • Initiate new ideas and improving efficiencies in this new pilot program.

TRAINING, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR 3 years of relevant work experience, preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent computer skills and digital literacy (minimum of Microsoft programs).
  • Graphic design experience, preferred.
  • Demonstrated self-starter, taking initiative and ownership of projects, and exhibiting a proactive approach.
  • Exacting organizational skills and the ability to work well independently
  • Draft marketing content for press releases, social media posts, website updates, customer email blasts etc. as required.
  • Perform research to ensure all non-profits are on-brand.
  • Collaborate with agencies and Graphic Designers to ensure quality graphic look for print and digital content and materials and to meet publication deadlines.
  • Manages content, method and means of distribution of communications.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have use of insured motor vehicle.
  • Prior work with nonprofits, preferred.

Education Services Specialist

About the Position: The Education Services Specialist Position is a systematic position working with various disciplines within the school liaisons from community agencies. These selected professionals are trained to use effective and professional techniques to identify and remove or mitigate non-academic barriers to learning; and in collaboration with families, to strategize for and/or refer identified students for assistance to facilitate their school success. Where the problem is beyond the scope of in-school services, the team will assist the parent and student with information so they may access services within the community. A professionally trained Education Services Specialist will provide consultation and educational services for students and families regarding the need for referral to community and/or school-based screening and intervention services.

About the Organization: The mission of United Way is “To improve the quality of life for the people of Venango County by coordinating a community-wide voluntary fundraising campaign and distributing the resources to meet both current and emerging human service needs of our Community Partners.”

A partial list of job responsibilities includes:

  • Provide supportive casework to children and their families, including parent education and self-advocacy
  • Provide parent counseling and training to help them acquire the necessary skills to support the implementation of their child’s specialized educational program
  • Assist in the planning of therapeutic, remedial, and behavioral modification activities provided by the educational agency
  • Provide direct interventions to students, including individual and group counseling, and educational and informational programs
  • Conduct formal and informal assessments of student functioning, developmental history, family and community structure, interpersonal relationships, adaptive behavior, and cultural factors that may influence learning
  • Use student, family, school, and community assessment to develop appropriate interventions to improve student learning
  • Develop intervention plans consistent with curriculum, student needs, strengths, social and cognitive functioning, and cultural experiences
  • Attend all SAP meetings at predetermined locations
  • Participate in team maintenance and program evaluation activities;
  • Assist families with accessing services by providing community resource information and obtaining releases of information to share with agencies as appropriate
  • Support the school-based aftercare plan for students who are returning to school from treatment;
  • Assist with crisis situations in the schools when requested;
  • Maintain appropriate data to assist schools in completing reports as required by funding sources;
  • Maintain confidentiality of the student and parents as required by Board Policies, District rules, and state and federal laws.

Act 34, Act 114 & Act 126 & 151 Clearances

Mandated Reported Child Abuse Training Physical & TB Test


Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Social Work Required

(3) years of experience in a related field preferred

Social Work License (LSW) and/or PA School Counseling Certification preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $37,412.47 – $47,000.00 per year
