“Natalie was advised to incorporate daily, independent stretching to relieve pain in her feet and legs. If stretching did not work, Dr. Wahoff planned to prescribe muscle relaxers, botox injections or more physical therapy. We were braced for bad news because Natalie resisted stretching stating “It just feels awkward.”
Instead, the doctor was in awe of Natalie s increased range of motion and strength. She attributes these improvements to the daily workouts with the YMCA swim team. In fact, Shriners asked Natalie to be an ambassador to encourage other patients to try new things and stay active. The Oil City Swim Team has become an extended family for us. We are grateful to have a pool so close to home and coaches that graciously accept all skill levels and encourage every child to be their best.”
